Abstract

An examination of the suicide rate in Scotland from 1950 to 1975 showed that, as domestic gas was detoxified, the suicide rate using domestic gas dropped while the suicide rate using all other methods continued to rise at the same pace as before detoxification. The total suicide. rate stopped increasing and held steady.
