Abstract

Safe and comfortable performance of railborne transport necessitates upkeep of track geometry irregularities within preset limits. This paper addresses to the methodology-with one case application including derivation of limits of track geometry irregularities based on track-vehicle interaction considerations as to meet the overall objectives of safety, stability and desired comfort level in the prespecified vehicles for the given range of operating speed.
