Abstract

The motorist regards loose livestock on modern highways as creating a hazard to traffic. The livestock owner is convinced that the livestock industry, as one of the largest producers of agricultural income in the United States, must have protection against liability to motorists in order to maintain its economic basis. The purpose of this article is to examine the efforts of our courts and our legislators in resolving these conflicting interests.
