Abstract

The data presented in this report show that handicapped drivers of a certain type (i.e. Full Hand Controls) in New York State for the period of time covered by the analysis had a statistically significant higher accident rate (per driver) than other drivers. Also, it is demonstrated that the accidents involving the Full Hand Control Group differed significantly from those involving other drivers by several accident variables such as weather conditions, road system, and accident type. All the statistical tests were at the 95% confidence level.
