Abstract

The constructive typology described is intended to stimulate the thinking of researchers and practitioners in traffic safety and to suggest another means of analyzing traffic law systems. Moreover, this topological approach could be applied to other parts of our criminal justice system. Auto theft control systems, for example, could be classified as laissez-faire property-recovery-oriented, offender-apprehension-oriented and legalistic. Similar topologies could also be constructed for any sociological system with conflicting goals and objectives.
