Abstract

The incidence of traffic accidents in Japan has been continually decreasing. It seems likely that fairly soon the decrease in the accident rate will bottom out. When looking at these figures for other countries we become more and more sure of this. Up until now programs to take care of traffic orphans have been in adequately developed. Ambulance and emergency services are also inadequate. The complaints and troubles facing the pedestrian due to inadequate crossways and pedestrian bridges also testified that much work in the traffic area has yet to be done.
