Abstract

The number of high school students who have a license for it to wield motor vehicle is increasing every year. Those with less driving experience have a higher rate of accidents. In this sense, drivers education for beginners is very important. This paper focuses on high school student driver education. It first introduces concepts from drivers education in countries other than Japan. It then introduces a new experiment in drivers education for high school students carried out by the IATSS, and clarifies that it is more important to educate the students as members of society who can behave safely rather than to just brush up driving techniques.
