Abstract

The major reasons are described for the refusal to approve requests for a reduction in the blocking period for obtaining a driving licence in the case of drunken drivers after they have attended a drivers special improvement course. The effects of these reasons on the mental state of the alcoholic driver and his attitude towards the penal code are discussed. It is feared that those who complete the reorientation program will relapse to their former behavior.
