Abstract

The author discusses the new regulation of the road traffic law which has been in force since August 1st, 1975, in Switzerland. He describes the part played by the physician, among others, in giving information about persons who because of disease, alcoholism or dependency upon drugs, can not be trusted to safely drive motor vehicles. A cycling inhibition is also mentioned. The concept of 'nearly being drunk' is discussed, as well as the problem of the punishable 'hindering of the blood sampling'. The punishments for so called drunken driving have been drastically increased.
