Abstract

Cannabinoids were simultaneously tested in blood and saliva from injured drivers by GC/MS. Saliva was collected using the Salivette. Seventeen from one hundred and fifty drivers tested positive for THC, 11-OH-THC or/and THC- COOH in blood, while the corresponding saliva specimens were only positive in twelve cases. THC was the unique analyte found in saliva, with concentrations in the range 0.7 to 103 ng/Salivette. However, most of the concentrations were below 10 ng/Salivette.
