Abstract

During the years 1965-1970 were collected 432 cases, in which two blood samples were taken with one hour's interval for alcohol determination. The difference between the two blood alcohol concentrations gives the BAC-fall per hour in legal practice The values show a nearly normal distribution with an average of 0.17 (per mille)/h. A BAC-fall of 0.10 (per mille)/h is proposed as a reasonable value for the backward calculation in alcohol-traffic cases. The recent introduction of BAC limits in Danish legal practice and their consequences for the backward calculations is discussed.
