Abstract

By means of a statistical analysis of blood samples in West Berlin and the convictions under the legal regulations in Berlin and the Federal Republic of Germany the author verifies his contention, that the customary decision to withdraw permission to drive (disciplinary punishment) leads to a marked decrease in driving under the influence. He is opposed to overemphasising post-schooling and points to the disadvantages should the disciplinary punishment be substituted by post-schooling. He supports the introduction of post-schooling after disciplinary punishment in cases where the granting of permission to drive is considered.
