Abstract

According to the BGA-report (1996) the presence of a mean value of blood alcohol concentration of 0.8 (per mille) means that the equally distributed limit value of between 0.6 (per mille) and 0.7 (per mille) exceeds the true limit concentration with a probability of 99.58 %. A corresponding interval of the true breath alcohol limit value can be chosen, based on the estimated equivalence between breath and blood alcohol values. In this case, the same certainty as quoted in the above mentioned report (1996) couldn't be granted with the breath alcohol concentration of 0.4 (per mille).
