Abstract

The International Society for Bipolar Disorders Task Force on Suicide presents the results of a bold undertaking. The task force members, 20 eminent researchers in the field, carried out a systemic review and meta-analysis on factors associated with suicide and suicide attempts among patients diagnosed with bipolar disorders. Even though psychiatry is far from helpless in caring for suicidal patients with bipolar disorders, suicide and suicide attempts remain pressing dangers.
