Abstract

The author examines the moral issues that arise from the use of personal motor vehicles in the United States. Included in the essay are: categories of vehicles that tend to exhibit high rates of crash incompatibility; failure of owners of vehicles with a high degree of crash incompatibility to internalize the costs of accidents; and regulation of the automobile industry.
