Abstract

There is probably no other single aspect of American behavior which is so underinvestigated as driving, and yet which has such an impact on our daily lives and on our annual death rate. Evidence is reviewed which indicates that the probability of being responsible for a fatal crash increases sharply as blood alcohol concentrations increase above those achieved by heavy social drinking.
