Abstract

For research into human sensory perception and abilities for vehicle handling and stability, an experimental vehicle was developed that can control the response of the yaw rate and lateral acceleration independently. The front and rear wheel steer angles are controlled respectively by the electrohydraulic control system. Using this vehicle, subjective evaluations were carried out in which the yaw rate and lateral acceleration characteristics were varied independently and changes in the driver's perception of the vehicle feel were examined.
