Abstract

The model consists of a linearized heave, pitch and roll submodel coupled to nonlinear suspension, tyre-force and lateral dynamics submodels. A vector word bond graph provides an overview of the complete system. The submodels are also represented in bond graph form and are coupled using multiport transformers. Causality considerations facilitate equation formulation and the writing of computer subroutines. Results show the vehicle trajectory during skids and the tyre side-force or bump parameters which will cause the vehicle to overturn under dynamic conditions.
