Abstract

This paper addresses the question of whether 'accident migration' occurs because of treatment or in spite of treatment. Data are presented which demonstrate that, while accident migration can arise in spite of treatment, accident migration does arise because of treatment and that the size of the effect is of sufficient magnitude to be considered to be of both statistical and practical significance.
