Abstract

The article presents a literature review on the research work and suggests appropriate design standards. When pedestrians are restricted to fixed corridors of movement, specific relationships between flow, speed and concentration can be observed. Relationships are established between these three variables for movement corridors including level footways, one-way flow; level footways, two-way flow; level footways in shopping streets; and stairways.
