Abstract

The designs included in the discussion are predicated on principles that only two-phase signal equipment of the actuated type is needed; and that all roadways providing access to the large traffic generator will be initially or eventually converted to at least four-lane divided construction in the vicinity of the complex. It is shown that using this concept, it is possible to install a traffic signal at any point along one of the roadways without stopping the vehicles on the other roadway.
