Abstract

Youth violence has become a major concern in the United States, heightened by severalrecent and tragic school shootings occurring in various cities across the nation. In several of these shootings,bullying was reported as a contributing factor explaining these young assailants’ use of violence. This has forced our country to look at an activity that has long been considered an unpleasant, unfortunate, and inevitable but mostly harmless rite of passage.
