Abstract

Since 9/11 the way major disasters are analyzed and prepared for has taken a new slant. Terrorism and its affect on the health care environment, according to the author, is an always-present factor in disaster planning. This article addresses some of the characteristics of suicide bombers, their possible motivations and behavior indicators in an effort to provide more tools to reduce the likelihood of a suicide bomb event affecting your facility.
