Abstract

Based on the introduction and analysis of research methods about pedestrian head protection, this paper builds the mathematics equations and FEA models and compares the calculating results with the test results about the collision models between the pedestrian head and the engine hood. The hood factors affecting the head injury were analyzed, which include the position of impact, the thickness of the hood, curvature radius of the hood, the length of the hood and the material of the hood and so on, and the ameliorating methods for the head protection were given.
