Abstract

The aerodynamics and vehicle system dynamics are combined in research on the subject of this paper. Making full use of the hydrokinetics and based on an aerodynamic model of a high-speed train in which contains three vehicles, the loads of strong cross winds in different velocities acting on different-speed car bodies of the train are calculated with FLUENT. A high-speed train dynamic model including three cars is established, and the forces and moments of the cross winds are dealt with as the external loads on the train. Through dynamic calculation, the influence of the cross winds on the dynamics of the high-speed train is simulated. With reference to the safe operation criteria for high-speed trains, the maximum safe running velocity of the high-speed train under different-speed side-winds is specified for the first time. It is helpful to safe operation of the highspeed EMUs at and above 240 km/h under special windy circumstances.
