Abstract

Aircraft icing detection is very important to guarantee flight safety, and nowadays the aircraft icing detection technology has developed maturely abroad. This paper classifies the ice sensors by different working principles, such as optical method, thermal method, electrical method, mechanical method, waveguide method, and so on. The existed ice sensors and some new technologies under research both at home and abroad are described, including their working principles, performance characteristics and researching status.
