Abstract

In this paper, a new method of automobile performance test based on virtual instruments is presented against the disadvantages of traditional instruments in the field of automobile performance test. The automobile test system based on virtual instruments has been built. Authors use the PC-DAQ scheme and adopt multi-sensor and data fusion equipped with PC machine and the virtual instrument software. Thus, and the data gathering controlling instruments and system of automobile test based on the virtual instruments come into being. The test system can examine the performance of the automobile exhaust emission, the noise, the headlight, the braking system, the suspension system, the chassis power, the steer system and the sideslip. The method has been proved to be reliable and exact by test cars in practice.
