Abstract

Aimed at the problem of car door side crashworthiness, one native car door side crashworthiness was analyzed by finite element method. The finite element model of car door was built with USA ETA/VPG and LS-DYNA software. According to USA side crash regulation FMVSS 214, the side crashworthiness of car door structure was analyzed. Improvement of car door structure was conducted and relevant measures for improving side crashworthiness were discussed. Before and after improvement simulation results show that door deformation decreases and car side crashworthiness is improved.
