Abstract

Evidence-based decisions are emerging as a new trend in preparing policy documents, press articles, and media releases in Australia. Evidence-based decisions are being including medical research, based on statistical analysis of properly designed experiments. The National Water Commission Client Services Charter have stated that their assessments and advice are based on evidence-based decisions, while the Queensland Government has established a Youth Violence Taskforce, which states that its members will be required to recommend proven and evidence-based youth violence prevention strategies. The New South Wales State Plan mentions of an evidence-based approach to counter crime and implement successful evidence-based strategies in road safety.
