Abstract

A study was carried out to account for the changes in right-angle crash activity at 19 intersections before and after traffic signals were removed from programmed late-night/early-morning flash. Reductions in right-angle crashes ranged from 29 percent to 100 percent. Aggregated, the reduction in right-angle crashes measured 78 percent.
