Abstract

Roundabouts are already recognized as a useful traffic-engineering tool that has applications in urban and rural areas. Today's standard is the compact, single-lane roundabouts, with an outside diameter of approximately 28 to 45 meters. Applications of these roundabouts in Germany confirm the advantages of this tool for intersections with traffic volumes of up to 25,000 vpd.
