Abstract

The objectives of the study were to examine the incidence of accidents involving young pedestrians (10 years and younger) in San Jose, determine the factors associated with those accidents and develop countermeasures. The study was divided into four parts: research available literature and statistics on young pedestrian accidents, collect accident data for San Jose, identify relevant collision factors and relationships, and identify potential countermeasures.
