Abstract

Perception-reaction time (PRT) is the total time it takes for a driver to commence and appropriate response to an impending hazard. PRT has two types; design and actual. PRT can be calculated when adequate data are available. It is usually evaluated when there is a question of a driver involved in an accident being responsive to an accident being responsive to an impending peril.
