Abstract

Study deals with traffic signal heads of type used throughout Australia; signal has optical system comprising paraboloid mirror with incandescent lamp at its focus; aperture of mirror is covered with zero power meniscus lens placed with its convex side out; attempt was made to identify sources of sun phantom and assess contribution of each to total sun phantom intensity by both calculation and measurement; measurements were made for three indication traffic signal head of type described.
