Abstract

According to the actual traffic movement under a two-phase signal, the most obvious and definite position reflecting the green period used by the vehicles passing through the intersection is the through-left conflict point and not the stop-line. This note presents a new method of traffic signal timing of isolated, fixed time, two-phase signals by considering the conflict point as the investigative section.
