Abstract

Drivers under age 25, especially new ones, have above average crash and injury rates. This paper probes the types of crashes where young drivers are over represented. Drivers with less driving experience are involved in a higher percentage of single-vehicle and turning crashes. We identify speed, swerving/skidding/spinning and search as contributing crash factors.
