Abstract

An evaluation of two different Alcohol and Drug Assessment programs are presented in terms of recidivism information. For Alabama the source data were obtained from the state's uniform traffic citation files, while local court case files were used to evaluate the El Cajon program. While the approaches applied to implementing the Alcohol and Drug Assessment programs were considerably different, both exhibited reductions in recidivism, within some subsets of the defendant population.
