Abstract

Automated Information Systems are being developed throughout the world at a rapid pace. It is no wonder that this development is taking place because reduced clerical workloads and improved management result when properly implemented and used. The New York State Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Health Services is presently undergoing such a change. The impact of this change is noticeably present now and will be ever more noticeable in the future. The changes that occur will not only have an impact on efficiency and management, but it is anticipated will be able to improve emergency services through proper utilization of available information.
