Abstract

In reviewing the current literature and with an overabundance of evidence that alcohol is involved in approximately 5 percent of automobile crashes and 50 percent of automobile crash fatalities, this information has not been documented with the motorcycle in particular.

Baker, in an attempt to identify the lack of quality in current motorcycle accident collection techniques has shown that alcohol seems to be a possible problem area to be examined within motorcycle crashes. Current accident statistics from states also seem to indicate that this may be a problem area yet no one has specifically addressed a review of literature.

The purpose of this paper will be to conduct the review of literature and describe the problems relative to motorcycle accident involvement and also countermeasure approaches.
