Abstract

The nature and general cause of the head injuries sustained by a sample of 211 pedestrians struck by the fronts of cars or light goods vehicles based on car designs are described, and it is shown that contact with the vehicle is the main cause of serious head injuries. The factors influencing the location and severity of the vehicle contact head injuries are considered.
