Abstract

This White Paper was developed to initiate discussions in the State of New York focusing on a statewide approach to increase significantly the use of safety belts, currently available in virtually all automobiles, as the single most effective countermeasure against in-vehicle trauma. Since June 1982, a major step forward has been made, and is summarized after the White Paper.
