Abstract

The highway safety cornerstones of the rubber industry are Research, Engineering, Testing and Experience. Research to develop new materials. Engineering to utilize these materials and make the many specialized tires for the cars, trucks, earth-movers, industrial equipment, agricultural tractors and machinery, aircraft, bicycles; and, yes, even for vehicles which we hope will one day travel on the moon. Millions of Miles of Testing to prove the tires will safely and efficiently perform the job for which they were designed. Last, but by no means, least, Experience gained over 60-some years of growth and progress.
