Abstract

The capture-recapture method is used to enumerate members of populations for which a complete census is not possible. The use of this method to enumerate individuals with alcohol-related problems requires special considerations. This article comments on these considerations and addresses the strengths and weaknesses of this method for enumerating individuals with alcohol-related problems in a community.
