Abstract

The article by Karltorp et al (1) raised important issues about congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. We have recently diagnosed the oldest case reported in the literature of isolated late-onset sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) due to congenital CMV. A previously well, 14-year-old boy developed acute right-sided deafness, confirmed to be SNHL on audiological assessment. ©2012 The Author(s)/Acta Paediatrica ©2012 Foundation Acta Paediatrica.
