Abstract

The current profusion of publications on cycling and cycling history suggests a definite trend. Certainly, it appears as if every academic press currently feels mandated to produce a book on some aspect of bicycling. Whether this will prove simply a passing flavour of the month and disappear as rapidly as the bicycle enthusiasm of the 1890s that prompts a number of these studies remains to be seen...
