Abstract

Two cases where elemental mercury was intentionally added to the victim's food are briefly described. Elemental mercury may be identified by using a combination of physical properties (appearance and specific gravity) and elemental analysis (scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry).
