Abstract

This article describes a mini-unit to help teachers prevent molestation of elementary school children. The major emphasis of the unit is on safety and survival skills that young people can use to help them in "Staying Alive." Child molestation is defined, methods of coercion are described, and survival tips and relevant learning activities related to prevention are suggested. The mini-unit is an example of what elementary school teachers, in cooperation with the school nurse, can do to incorporate survival skills to prevent child molestation into the elementary school classroom.
