Abstract

Working at night in a driving rain, workers constructed a long asphalt pathway for use by the officials and families who came to pay their last respects to the 167 men, women and children killed in the bombing. Oklahoma City's Public Works Department is proud to have been one of the first departments to respond to the disaster and one of the last to leave the site. Their FEMA training and their own professionalism and dedication were major components of the department's effective support of the rescue effort.
