This article describes snow and ice operations in Kansas City, which are directed by the Street and Traffic Division of Public Works with input from other departments. Winter weather conditions can occur in Kansas City anytime during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons. Overall, the city receives about 20 inches of snow and several ice storms during the year.
