Abstract

The JRC Risk Harmonisation Workshop primarily served to collect information on different risk assessment methods across technical areas and countries, the working group session that took place immediately after the workshop with about 35 experts which attended the workshop and interested participants aimed at identifying the next steps forward. As a first step, a few weeks after the workshop, a detailed summary paper was drafted by JRC, distributed for finalisation to all the workshop participants and put in its final version on the Internet for downloading (http://mahbsrv.jrc.it/RiskHarmProj/stresa/Summary-Paper-final.pdf).In Section 1 of this Summary Paper some industry-specific as well as more general conclusions from the workshop sessions are given 1, followed by considerations on the status of risk-based decision making (Section 2) and by an outlook on how to possibly continue with this initiative ( Section 3).
